A little Broadway 411....

A Tale Of Two Cities has come to Broadway! After about a year of being deprived, I'm finally going to see a musical! I'm not going to lie, it looks pretty good! Maybe a bit Les Miserables like? Hmmm I don't know yet! I suppose we shall see!

And by the way, a familiar face you may see!: JAMES BARBOUR! Alright, I'm not going to lie, I didn't know is name HOWEVER, I recognized the face very well!

Anyhow, that's exciting I suppose. Well, let me telly you a little bit about my own personal Broadway experience! First and foremost, I live in New York City. NOT THAT I AM GLOATING! Just saying, it allows me to see musicals more frequently than most which I am very grateful for! :)

Last April I saw Les Miserables and I MUST say, BEST musical so far that I have seen. The Drowsy Chaperone came pretty close but not as close as the Fiddler on the Roof revival came! Alfred Molina was in that! For those of you who are Spiderman lovers, yeah, he played the octopus guy. Anyhow, I also saw 42nd Street which, to be honest, I wouldn't go see again just because it was such a long time ago and I feel like it was SO Broadway! I mean, just look at the title...

Oh, AND HOW COULD I FORGET! The astoundingly unforgettable Fantasticks! That was an off-Broadway one...what is the difference between On and Off Broadway, you ask?...hmm I shall have a blog about that soon! Anyhow, yes, yes. All marvelous Broadway shows that I have had the privilege to see!

Oh and OF COURSE! What I have forgotten to mention is one of the most important things ever about me: PATTI LUPONE/EVITA

Patti LuPone is my absolute FAVORITE Broadway actress of all time. She played Evita in, well, yes, you guessed it...Evita is one of my favorite musicals, though, there hasn't been a revival, and I haven't been able to see it! :( 'Tis ok! Soon, there will be one, even if I produce it!

Now, you may be wondering, who is Patti LuPone? Well, she picked up the lead role in Evita in 1979 and in the 80's snagged the lead of the revival of Cole Porter's 1940s hit Anything Goes! She is currently playing Mama Gypsy in the revival of haha yeah, Gypsy.

Yes, yes...Gypsy. To bad I cannot see it do to it's content..teehee

Well, ok, I WOULD see it. But it's my father! He's so...conservative about that stuff...I can't hardly blame him, I mean If I were in his shoes I would be the same I assume. It's plot: Mama Gypsy is basically encouraging her daughter, stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, to..well...strip! Ok, I would just say look it up yourself! I cannot be responsible for the content of that particular musical! Hahaha Honestly, Ethel Merman played the original Mama Gypsy in the 1960s. It couldn't be THAT unwholesome!

Ok, I shall update later on A Tale of Two Cities, etc.

By the way!: Check out A Tale of Two Cities' website: www.talemusical.com

Ciao Dolls!
